How Chick-fil-A One's tiers, earning, and expiration work

FastFoodPoints's value table is about spending points you already have — this page is about how you earn them, what the four Chick-fil-A One tiers actually get you, and whether your points ever expire. The two are independent of each other: as far as we've seen, your tier changes how fast you earn points and what extra perks you get, not what any specific reward costs to redeem. The points cost shown for every item in the value table is the same regardless of your tier.

The four tiers

Every Chick-fil-A One member starts at the base tier and moves up by earning points within the current calendar year. Here's how they compare:

Tier Points needed this year Earn rate What it adds
Member— (default)10 pts per $1 spentPoints accumulation and reward redemption
Silver1,000 pts11 pts per $1 spentEverything in Member, plus the ability to gift rewards to family and friends
Red4,000 pts12 pts per $1 spentEverything in Silver, plus a free Backstage Tour of Chick-fil-A's headquarters for up to 5 guests
Signature10,000 pts13 pts per $1 spentEverything in Red, plus rewards exclusive to Signature members

Tier status resets every year

This is the part that catches people off guard: reaching Silver, Red, or Signature isn't permanent. Chick-fil-A determines tier status annually — you have to earn enough points to qualify again between January 1st and December 31st each year, or your status drops back down. Your progress toward tier status resets to zero every January 1st, regardless of what tier you reached the year before. You can check where you currently stand under "My Status" in the Chick-fil-A app.

Do your points expire?

No — and this is worth separating clearly from the tier reset above, since the two get confused easily. The reward points you redeem for food (the ones tracked throughout this site) do not expire. What resets every January 1st is only your progress toward tier status — a completely separate number from your redeemable point balance. You can sit on a large point balance indefinitely; you just have to keep earning within the calendar year if you want to hold onto (or move up) a tier.
